The PRINCE2 Foundation certification is provided by Axelos and PeopleCert. Axelos was set up as a joint venture between the UK government and Capita. In July 2021 Axelos was acquired by PeopleCert. PeopleCert specializes in testing through its vast network of over 8000 testing centers across 165 countries.
03What are the benefits of becoming PRINCE2 Foundation certified?
There are over a million professionals certified in PRINCE2. It is one of the most recognized project management certifications. As an entry level certification, it is also relatively easy to attain.
PRINCE2 training is not just about the PRINCE2 framework, it also skills the learner in applying project management concepts. Having competence in using a structured framework gives more control over the project. This is also something PRINCE2 certified professionals can leverage.
04How do I get the PRINCE2 Foundation Certification?

PRINCE2 Foundation is an entry level certification. It does not have any prerequisites because it is designed to be friendly to beginners. The only requirement to get certified is to pass the PRINCE2 Foundation exam conducted by PeopleCert.
07Is PRINCE2 Foundation certification valid for life?
Yes, the PRINCE2 Foundation certificate is valid for life, but it is recommended that you renew it every three years. If you do not renew, the certification status changes from “current” to “elapsed”. To prevent that from happening you will need to earn Continuous Professional Development points (CPDs) or clear the exam for a higher certification within the three years.
08Do I need to renew my PRINCE2 Foundation certification?
Yes, you will need to renew your PRINCE2 Foundation certification every three years by taking the exam or by getting a higher certification like PRINCE2 Practitioner. You can also earn 60 CPDs as required to maintain the “current” status of your certification beyond three years.
